spring 'break'

hey all,

writing to you from my desk, in my room, staring outside to the flowers and veggies growing in my yard below. it's spring break over here, and it feels more like summer outside! it's nice.

i've been having some rec time this break, took yoga, went for a long run, biked up a hill (see the pics)...but i'm also working very hard right now too. it's crazy how the days can just fly by when you have a lot to do. they feel too short to me.

i guess this pressure is the gear up for our conference in nyc...which is in a little more than one week! we are sending out our press release, finalizing our booklet, and making all arrangements to get 150 people to nyc for 4 days of greatness.

it's just a lot of work to try and graduate while leading this organization, but i'm hoping that my profs will take it at least a little bit easy on me one of these days...otherwise, i might be back at the berkels in the fall ;/

yesterday, i also applied to run a summer program in richmond, engaging youth in the planning of san pablo avenue. i taught the program this year, and now i want to take on the whole shibang. we'll see if my proposal makes it to the finals...the program's budget is $60,000, which i must say is a significant amount of money to manage. but if i can't do it, i don't know who can! wish me luck...

much love, hard work, and some fun in the sun.

xoxo
