hey there,
on thursday, i went for a long jog up strawberry canyon. all the while, i was thinking about how much i wanted to get home to be with friends and family this weekend. when i got to the top of the canyon, overlooking oakland, the bay, and the bridges, i realized that i don't need to be afraid of feeling alone out here anymore. my comfort zone is shifting, and that's all good.
after this, things slowly panned out in my favor. while cooking dinner, my new friend naomi called and came over for a bite. megan's roommate haley happened to be here this weekend, and we ended up spending time together, relaxing, hiking, eating, and having fun.
then yesterday, i got to see some great music at stern grove, with some of my closest friends. while listening to the music, i started feeling sadness, for dave, for my friend sam that recently passed, a few tears...at that moment, an adorable little girl struggled onto her grandma's shoulders. she took my hand, and we sullenly bopped a little bit together to the music. grandma hugged me, told me to take good care of myself, and away they went.
in our greatest moments of need, sometimes we can open ourselves to the universe and find love in unexpected forms. it's important to be receptive to those moments, and not forget they exist when times are tough.
sending love and strength to all of you beautiful people!
