hi there,

today was my roommate marina's birthday. two birthdays, close together. makes one think about the beauty of dedicating a day to someone, and what people mean to each other.

to celebrate, we went up to the claremont hotel and drank dirty martinis. listened to live jazz. watched the moon rise over our house at the bottom of the oakland hills.

we came home and discussed our past, moments we spent together that we didn't even realize. the special things that we are participating in. where we hope to be in the next few years.

now, i am listening to chet baker, about to fall into my newly washed sheets in bed. what a lucky girl am i.
