juana molina is an argentine singer.  in order to raise money to take guitar lessons, she performed a comedy sketch for a television show.  she was so funny that she was offered her own tv show, which soon became the most watched show in the country.  three years later, she had money for guitar lessons, so she quit television and hit the road, terrified.  now she performs sola all over the world.

juana followed her heart.  that feeling in your chest that you get when you know you are doing the wrong thing, that energy that comes with making moves towards your true goals.  i have those feelings right now.

i left my job last monday.  getting laid off is not the best way to go...it's a little sad for everyone because it really signals deep trouble with the organization.  my boss cried, and gave me a california hiking book.  it was the most thoughtful thing he's done in a year.

on tuesday, i spent one day in bliss at heart's desire beach, ate oysters and smiled.  wednesday new work started...i've got four contracts, and it feels like a little too much.  all i want to do is...nothing.  it feels good to have good work that i am interested in lined up, but i'm not quite ready to start.  we'll see...i'm teaching sustainable urban design tomorrow at 1pm...

instead of blogging only about boys and hikes, i am taking on a project where i intend to accomplish one adventurous thing each month this year.  i think this is going to make me really brave.  here are some ideas...

august - leave job, start true path in life :)
september - bike 150 miles from waves to wine san francisco to sonoma at the end of the month
october - adrianna moves here, mom visits...gotta think of something big
november - landmark forum?
december - learn guitar :)
