dating life couldn't be funnier. and there is a social stigma for being alone. and thirty.
couples unite and while they may or may not be happy, they like to hang out with each other. sometimes. other times there's room for a single gal like me.
of course, i'm almost over it. having spent a while on my own at this point i'm so happy with myself and surrounded by love and definitely people are showing me they care, it's just...no one has been the right one just yet. and i think you know when it's right.
friends give me advice - stop sleeping with people. you don't need cool, you need nice. have you gone online? well, how are you meeting these guys?
as if it's easy as pie. like i'm meeting mr. right every day, it's just i miss the chance or screw it up somehow. or i'm not looking hard enough.
actually, online dating is horrendous. 40 year old shlubs writing messages as if i'm on the market for them. or better yet, perverted dudes who just want to get laid. yuck.
and yes, i actually would like to date someone i respect and think is awesome. not trying to settle down at this point with any guy for any reason. i know too much about myself for that.
at a certain age, it just gets harder. people are hardly single, and while i remain fantastic, it's just not easy as pie.
i've closed the book on most past relationships, and while memories arise from time to time, i think i've got a clean slate.
now, i'll keep doing things i love, hoping, and NOT talking to my married friends about why i'm still single. thanks anyway, but please keep it to yourself because you have no idea what it's like.
good nite.
