two days

hi there,

over the last few days, i've been hiking a bit, cleaning, packing up for my trip, and going to san francisco for fun. sf is a crazy city, because there are less than 1 million people living there. it's definitely not as big as the apple i call home. nor is as diverse - or at least, the diversity is different.

the other nite, i was in sf with some of my friends, dancing it up. there was a little shuffle in the 80's style beauty bar that we were hanging out in, and my friends nearly got in a fight! the underlying emotions between the two factions were definitely race related - see, my friends were some of the only people of color in the place, and the other peeps were really rude white people.

i don't know, i love it out here, but there is definitely great animosity that exists, which is completely understandable in many ways. it's definitely going to be a challenge to find the recognition of sameness and love between different people that i know so well from my life in ny. not that things there are without any drama either...
