hey!
i'm just back from a 2 day staff retreat in san francisco. we stayed in fisherman's wharf, spent our days being strategic in the aquarium offices, and our nights eating & drinking in north beach. i've never eaten more garlic than i did last night at the stinking rose...and that would perfectly describe me at this moment :/
the retreat was awesome. i'm working with folks who share a similar vision, want to get there in complementary ways, and who are currently doing kick-ass work. my entire staff (of 7) are female, except for our director...this dynamic is different, maybe questionable, but fun!
most exciting, i'm finding that what i aspire to accomplish will be supported / enhanced / bolstered as an employee at this organization. buenisimo!
being in san francisco was luscious. this morning, i took a long run on the water's edge, through fort mason to the presidio. it was a beautiful day, and quite calm at 8 am. i remembered that i once wanted to live in SF, and today i was reminded why...
you should know, i've adopted a new outlook these days. my decisions are dictated by one question - does this (fill in the blank) push me towards, or away from being the person i want to be?
although life still feels wishy washy, asking the universe to 'throw me a bone' has brought me to better places - dancing to reggae rhythms, eating crab with TONS of garlic, and SENDING OUT THE YPN CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT :) it's amazing how the universe provides when you ask, open your heart, and relax a little bit.
love to you all,
alis
