rocker

today, i bought an antique rocking chair from my downstairs neighbors. isn't it beautiful? i think this will be a great place for visitors to sit in my new apartment...moving in next month.

the rocker is less a piece of furniture, and more a state of being. it must be balanced quite precisely so as not to fling a person off the back, or slide them too far forward. this chair, i believe, is nicely crafted for just that.

sitting on the couch, finally finishing my masters thesis so that i can graduate for real. thinking about rocking chairs. writing to you.

two days ago, i was offered my dream job. i have a wonderful apartment that i'll be moving into at the end of the month. but right now, my heart hurts a bit from romantic disappointment.

if there's one thing that i've learned, it's that you can't wish a thing into existence. either it is, or it isn't. i'm lucky to have several things that are right now and, as life goes, there is also something that just isn't.

in a few minutes, i'll head out for an afternoon stroll, take advantage of the sun. tomorrow, to a yoga retreat at the green gulch zen center.

much love to all, wishing you a sway forward, and gentle lean back.

peace
